Chengdu is Sichuan’s capital and China’s first UNESCO City of Gastronomy—a city of bold flavors, giant pandas, teahouses, and a famously unhurried rhythm. Historic courtyards and lively lanes sit beside striking contemporary design, making the city feel both rooted and new.
Upper House Chengdu is our wedding venue: a quiet urban retreat in Taikoo Li, built around a restored Qing-dynasty courtyard. Local architecture, contemporary art, bamboo gardens, and intimate gathering spaces come together as an elegant expression of old and new Chengdu.
Just outside, Taikoo Li is an open-air district of shops, restaurants, and cafés woven through traditional lanes. Next door, 1,600-year-old Daci Temple is the historic Buddhist heart of the neighborhood.
